Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a session last?
Most sessions typically run approximately 1 hour. With 5-10 minutes getting settled in before the session and 5-10 minutes of reflection after the session. Some of the more specialized events may run longer and will be noted in the event details.
What do I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing. Think "lounging on the couch" attire.
How do I prepare for a sound bath?
Arrive with an open mind and an open heart. It is best to be well hydrated as sound waves & vibrations travel best through water. Do not eat anything too heavy prior to the session. A light meal an hour or two before the session is best. Drink plenty of water following the sound bath for at least 24 hours.
What do I bring to a PUBLIC group sound bath session?
Bring any props you may need to make yourself comfortable lying down or seated on the floor for an extended amount of time. Yoga mat or meditation chair, a pillow, a light blanket, bolster for under your knees, an eye covering, and water bottle. Some may even wish to bring a journal for reflection after the session. **Please let me know if you cannot lie down on the floor...I have a couple of gravity chairs available for use**
What do I bring to a PRIVATE 1-on-1 sound bath session?
All props you may need for your comfort during your 1-on-1 Private Sound Bath will be provided for you: A Thai mattress or gravity chair, pillows, blankets, bolsters for under your knees, an eye covering, and water. Some may even wish to bring a journal for reflection after the session. If you prefer to use any of your own props feel free to bring them.
What do I bring to a PRIVATE GROUP sound bath session?
I do have a limited amount of props to use for Private Group sessions including Thai mattresses, gravity chairs, pillows, blankets and bolsters. Depending on the amount of people participating it is recommended you bring all props you may need for your comfort during your Private Group Sound Bath session: A yoga mat or meditation chair, pillows, blankets, bolsters for under your knees, an eye covering, and water. Some may even wish to bring a journal for reflection after the session.
What happens if I don't feel comfortable during the session?
Comfort is key during a sound bath. Although the vast majority of the time a sound bath is an extremely relaxing and healing modality, there may be times when it just does not resonate with you...and that's ok. Just like other healing modalities, sound baths may not be for everyone. Feel free to move around during the session: Sit up, stretch, or even practice yoga. It is also absolutely ok to remove yourself from the space if needed. Please do not feel obligated to complete the session if you become too uncomfortable.
What if I don't want my picture made public?
I occasionally use photos of my sessions for marketing and advertising. I always ask for permission prior to taking any photos and will never take photos without prior permission. If you happen to see a photo of yourself that you do not approve of or you do not feel comfortable sharing with others please feel free to contact me and it will be promptly removed and/or deleted.
